Defendant ruled innocent after swearing on their mother’s life they aren't guilty

"Your honour, if I were guilty, would I really put my mother's life on the line?" 35-year-old, Joshua Gomez, was recently put on trial for multiple accounts of theft. In the middle of his hearing, he came up with the ingenious idea of swearing on his mother's life that he was not guilty of the charges. We spoke to his lawyer, Jennifer, for more: "It just came out of nowhere! We hadn't discussed this prior to the hearing, so I was amazed. It was truly a fool-proof defence, and one that I plan to use in the future."
