Local over 40’s football team goes undefeated for the first time in the club’s 100-year history after all games were called off due to rain
BEST NON SEASON EVER: The over 40’s football team ironically named “Make it Rain” were declared club champions for the first time ever after finishing their season undefeated. Local news reporters were camped underneath the clubhouse next to the match referee moments before the 8 am start time in which the final game of the season was “cancelled again due to rain" for the 20th week running. When awarded the plastic trophy, captain Garry - or “Gazza” as he is known around the grounds - had this to say when speaking about his team’s performance: “I am unbelievably proud of the boys for their commitment and dedication at training which involved swimming through puddles and sliding in the mud.”
